The Cat Corner — DIY Kit

For the spot your cat eats — which is usually the spot you've been trying not to look at.

Cat corners are harder than dog corners.

The bowls are smaller and get pushed around. The food spot has to sit away from the litter box, which means it usually ends up somewhere awkward — a gap beside the fridge, a landing, the end of a hallway. And anything you hang within reach becomes something to knock down.

So this kit is built a little differently.

The frames mount flush and hang [high on the panel], above the height a cat will investigate. The wall panel is [wipeable / sealed], because cats eat with more enthusiasm than precision. And the whole arrangement is sized for a narrower wall — the kind of gap a cat's bowls actually end up in, not a wide open feature wall.

Everything comes cut and finished. You choose the photos, press the paw print, and put it up.

What's not in the box

Bowls and food storage are sold separately. If you're setting the corner up properly, the Steel Fountain is the piece we'd put in it — cats drink less from a still bowl than most people expect, and a fountain in the corner earns its place.

A note on where to put it

Cats won't eat next to the litter box. If the corner you have in mind is within a few feet of one, the setup will look good and go unused.

The other thing worth knowing: cats prefer to eat with a clear line of sight and something solid behind them. A corner works better than the middle of a wall — which is convenient, because that's what this is for.

Why a kit and not a finished thing

We thought about selling this assembled. We decided against it.

The reason people build these is that they wanted to have built them. The corner means something because you put it up, chose which photo went in which frame, and got your cat to sit still long enough to press a paw onto the card. Shipping that pre-made would remove the only part that isn't decoration.

So it ships flat, in pieces, with instructions.

Two cats?

The panel fits [two plaques / a second nameplate], available as an add-on. Frames are sized so the arrangement still reads as one wall rather than two competing ones.

FAQ

Will my cat knock the frames down? The frames sit [high on the panel] and mount flush rather than hanging on hooks, which is the main reason things get batted off walls. A determined cat is still a determined cat.

Will this work on a rented wall? The panel and trim are adhesive and designed to come off. We'd test a small patch first — we can't speak for every paint job.

What size wall does it need? Roughly [W × H]. Designed for a narrow wall or a corner rather than a wide open span.

How do I get a paw print from a cat? Honestly: with help, and possibly during a nap. The pad is inkless and doesn't need pressure, so it's more forgiving than the ink kind. [Confirm with supplier before publishing.]

Can I use it for a dog? The dog version is sized for a wider wall and hangs lower — The Dog Corner is the one you want.

What if a frame arrives broken? Email hello@dukeanddot.com with a photo and we'll send a replacement. Nothing needs to go back.
